Big Sky
Hospitality Industry

Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Big Sky area.

Big Sky is west of and less than a day’s drive from Idaho’s Bitterroot Range of the Rocky Mountains, in the Gallatin Valley of the Gallatin National Forest alongside the Gallatin River which appeared in the film A River Runs Through It, about an hour’s drive north of Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park and a couple of hour’s drive south of Bozeman, the nearest city large enough to offer all of the comforts of contemporary civilization, but still Western enough to provide a refreshing alternative to it. First time travelers will find Big Sky aptly named, as they are struck by the expanse of sky and scenic views that seem to have no end. The area offers many established campsites from rustic to ultra contemporary, particularly in the canyon area along U.S. 191, or if you prefer no civilization at all there are hundred of miles of surrounding wilderness into which you can disappear. Great opportunities for hiking and biking, horseback riding, golf, white-water rafting and fly-fishing are all available around Big Sky. Many resorts, ski lodges and small family-run bed and breakfast inns also are available both in and around Big Sky and deeper into the forest, generally to the west of the highway in Meadow Village, with the more upscale lodging options further west in the Mountain Village area. Each establishment offers its own special amenities, selection of activities and memorable perspective on this vast area of natural beauty.
